Locked out of your car
Keys on the seat, in the boot, or somewhere you can’t reach? We can open any car, including European and Chinese cars, and we don’t damage your car. We come to wherever it is: home, work, a car park or the side of the road. More about car lockouts.
If a child or a pet is locked inside the car, call 000 first.
Lost all your car keys
If you’ve lost every key, you don’t need to tow the car to a dealer. For Japanese, Korean and most American cars we cut and program a new key at your car. Most keys are cut and programmed in about half an hour once we’re at the car. It’s usually a lot less than going through a dealer, and there’s no towing. We agree the price with you before we start.
We can also remove a lost key from the car’s computer, so it can no longer start the car. It may still open the doors. We need proof that the car is yours before we make a key (see “What to have ready”). All keys lost: how it works.
Spare and duplicate car keys
It’s easier to get a spare while you still have a working key. We copy standard keys, remote keys and push-button proximity keys. Spare car keys.
Transponder, remote and push-button keys
Most modern car keys have a small chip in them. The car’s immobiliser checks the chip before it will start, so a key that only fits the ignition won’t run the car. A remote key also locks and unlocks the doors, and a proximity key lets you start the car with a button. We program all of these for the makes below. About transponder keys and remote keys.
Key stuck or broken in the ignition
If a key has snapped or won’t come out, we can extract it. We don’t repair or replace ignitions (see “What we don’t do”). What to do when a key is stuck in the ignition.
Utes, vans and 4WDs
We do the same work on utes, vans and 4WDs, including HiLux, Ranger, Triton, Navara and Prado. Utes, vans and 4WDs.
Which cars we make keys for
We make keys for all Japanese cars, Hyundai and Kia, and most American cars. We open any locked car. Find your make:
European cars are our lockout specialty: BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, VW, Volvo and the rest, opened without damage but no keys made. See European car lockouts. Chinese cars (including Great Wall): same deal, lockouts only. All car makes we cover.
How a car call-out works

- We agree the price with you before we start.
- We come to the car. If you need a key, we check your ID and proof that the car is yours.
- We open the car, or cut and program the key there, and test it before we go.

If it’s something we don’t do, or we’re not available when you call, we’ll always try to point you to someone who can help.
