Sea air is hard on locks
Homes close to West Coast Drive cop salty air all year round. Over time it corrodes lock cylinders, gate latches and sliding-door locks, until one day the key won’t turn. If a lock is getting stiff, it’s far easier to service or repair or replace it now than to wait until it jams with you locked out.
What we do in Sorrento
- House lockouts, including late at night and on weekends
- Seized and corroded locks on front doors, sliding doors and side gates
- Rekeying when you buy or rent a place, so old keys stop working. How rekeying works
- Car lockouts and lost car keys, including at the beach car parks
- Keyless locks for holiday rentals, so guests get a code instead of a key. Digital and smart locks

Common questions
Lost my keys at the beach. Can you get me into my car?
Yes. We open locked cars and can cut and program a new key on the spot for Japanese, Korean and most American cars, so you don’t need a tow to the dealer.
My lock has gone stiff. Is it the salt air?
Often, yes. Salt corrodes the pins and springs inside the lock. Sometimes a service fixes it; if the lock is too far gone, we’ll replace it with one that suits a coastal home.
Can you fit a keyless lock on my holiday rental?
Yes. A digital lock lets you give each guest their own code and change it between stays, so there are no keys to hand over or lose.
