What to do first
- Check the last three places properly: pockets, bags, the car itself (look through the windows), and the last shop or café you were in. Most “lost” keys turn up here.
- If there’s a spare at home, that’s your quickest fix. We can cut extra keys from it later so you’re not down to one again.
- No spare? Don’t book a tow. Call 0427 580 823 with the make, model, year and where the car is. We come to it.
How we make a key when there’s nothing to copy
A lost-key job is different from cutting a spare, because there’s no key to copy. We read the code from the door lock or the car’s computer, cut a blade to that code, then program the transponder chip so the immobiliser accepts the new key. If the car has a remote or a push-button start, we pair that too. It all happens at the car, out of the back of the van.
We also delete the lost key from the car’s computer. If someone finds it, it won’t start your car. On most cars it may still open the doors, so if that worries you, ask us about rekeying the door locks while we’re there.
What we need from you
- Photo ID, such as your driver’s licence
- Something showing the car is yours: rego papers, or the rego in your name on your phone
- Access to the car. We can’t make a key for a car that isn’t there, or for a car that isn’t yours

Which cars we make lost keys for
All Japanese cars, Hyundai and Kia, and most American makes, including Ford and Holden. Pick your make for the details:

Common questions
Can you really make a key with no key at all?
Yes. That’s the whole job. We read the lock or the car’s computer, cut a new blade and program the chip at the car. You don’t need an old key, and you don’t need the dealer.
Do I have to get the car towed to you?
No. We’re mobile. Wherever the car is in Perth, we come to it and do the work there.
Will the lost key still work if someone finds it?
It won’t start the car, because we delete it from the car’s computer. On many cars it may still open the doors, so tell us if you’d like the door locks rekeyed as well.
My car is push-button start. Is that a problem?
No. We supply and program smart keys for Japanese, Korean and most American push-button cars. Tell us the make and model when you call so we bring the right key.
My car is a BMW, VW, Mercedes or MG. Can you help?
We can open it and get you back inside, but we don’t make keys for European or Chinese cars. For those, the dealer makes the key. We’ll tell you that straight away on the phone.
