Why European cars lock people out
Most European cars deadlock. Shut the door and the inside handles, the lock buttons and sometimes the boot release all stop working, so the old tricks fail and people end up damaging the door trying. Add keyless entry that locks the car when it thinks the key has walked away, and you get the call we take most often: “It locked itself and the key’s on the seat.”
We open these cars the way they’re designed to be opened, with proper entry tools, and we’ve been doing it for 25 years. No pressure on the glass, no marks on the paint, no fault codes.
Keys are the one thing we don’t do
We don’t cut or program keys for any European car. If you’ve lost the only key, we’ll still open the car so you can get to your things, and then it’s a dealer job for the key. For the cars we do make keys for, see car makes we cover.
Common questions
Which European cars can you open?
All of them. BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Volvo, Land Rover, Porsche, Skoda, Mini, Jaguar, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Peugeot, Renault and any other European make. Deadlocked or not.
Why won’t the coat hanger trick work on my European car?
Because the doors deadlock. That disables the inside handle and the lock button, so there’s nothing to hook. We use entry tools that work with the lock, not against it.
Can you make me a new key while you’re there?
No. We don’t cut or program keys for European cars. We open the car so you can get your keys or your belongings; a replacement key is a dealer job.
Will you damage the car?
No. We never damage cars. Proper tools, no force, no marks, and the alarm resets with your own key.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the time of day. We tell you the price on the phone before we leave, and you decide.
